Reporting to the ISSO
After you arrive in Ithaca, you MUST come to the International Students and Scholars Office no more than 30 days after the start date of your I-20 or DS-2019 (click here for ISSO Office Hours). When you come to the ISSO, bring your:
- passport and I-94 card (issued at the U.S. port of entry).
- I-20 or DS-2019, OR documentation of the visa status you possess if other than F-1 or J-1.
We are REQUIRED to check those documents to confirm your status in the United States. Failure to do so will result in the loss of your legal ability to stay in the U.S. At that time we will also give you important orientation materials and, if applicable, a certificate to apply for a social security number.
In Case of an Emergency
Call the ISSO (607-255-5243), or after office hours call:
- ISSO Director, Brendan O'Brien (607-272-2259)
- The Cornell Police (607-255-1111)
Collect calls cannot be accepted.
