    August International Graduate Student Orientation

At the beginning of each semester the University plans events to help acquaint new graduate students with Cornell and Ithaca. You should expect to attend orientation or welcome events sponsored by your specific graduate field or department, The Graduate School, and the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO).

The ISSO's fall orientation program for international graduate and professional students will take place the afternoon of Saturday, August 22. A detailed schedule of events will be available at the ISSO, and at the office of your graduate field coordinator, when you arrive at Cornell. You can also find the schedule online here.

    New International Student Orientation Sessions

At the start of the Fall semester, the ISSO will offer an orientation session for new international students. If you did not attend the PREPARE International Pre-Orientation Program or the International Graduate Student Orientation program (above), you should plan to attend this session. It will be held Wednesday, August 26, from 2:30-4:30 PM, in the International Lounge of Willard Straight Hall.

New students starting in the Spring 2010 semester are invited to join our orientation program on Wednesday, January 20 (exact time and location will be provided when you arrive at Cornell). The staff from the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) will explain how to maintain your immigration status, how to obtain work authorization, and other critical issues for international students. Take this opportunity to come meet the ISSO staff and some of your 3360 fellow international students!
